I rode Huszar to a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the Sonoran desert on Thanksgiving Day. It is a miracle to see!

I met a woman who jumps her horse and who had a serious accident during a jump. She fell off her horse onto the hard ground. She has a metal plate through her entire pelvis. And she is still riding. I realize how dangerous horses can be but it only makes me be more careful when I ride Zum on the trails.

The best things in life are on the other side of fear.

My two primary tasks with Zum are to avoid danger and increase pleasure. I am teaching him that it is fun to trot in the round pen!

As I ride my young horse in the silence of the desert, I feel I am a true child of the Earth Mother and the Sky Father!

Four things are needed for me to gentle a young, wild horse like Zum: patience, mindfulness, encouragement and warmth.

My desire to succeed and enjoy myself on the trails with Zum is becoming stronger than the fear of Zum bucking me off!
